A wide base on the machined 6061 forged alloy body gives a large target when remounting, and provides a stable base if you need a few extra pedal strokes to clip back in. Don't be afraid to stand up and crank: the CXR's steel axles are ready for you. When you are unclipped, the CXRs are designed to rotate so the rear drops, making it easier to catch the front of the pedal for re-entry. Whether or not you thread them on to a 'cross or mountain bike, the CXR's three sealed cartridge bearings are known for their longevity in adverse conditions. Mud means nothing to these pedals, as the oversized front cage is nearly impossible to get clogged, always ready to accept a cleat.
